What is VEET and how can it help businesses?

The VEET Scheme gives businesses an opportunity to receive lighting upgrades at a free or reduced cost through the use of VEECS.

Victorian energy efficiency certificates (VEECs) are awarded to suppliers of energy-saving upgrades (Such as Lightonline) and are funded through the amount large Energy Retailers are required to pay per year to support VEET activities.

Essentially, business like us (Light Online) will receive VEECs for each LED upgrade we successfully complete, which awards us with the cost of the upgrade. As a result, we are encouraged to help businesses like yours by supplying lights via free or reduced cost upgrades.

I’m happy with my lights – is LED really worth it?

Whether it’s highbays, panels, the new LED technology has benefits across the range of commercial lighting. Upgrading from your CFL or Halogen lighting to LED is an investment that will benefit you in both the short and the long term.

Additionally, LED’s produce next to no heat compared to all other traditional lighting methods, meaning you will also save on reduced air conditioning costs!

They last longer in both life and brightness, able to be cycled on and off frequently without a reduction in their lifespan – which in many cases is up to 50,000 hours. This means you also save on the cost of replacements in the long term.

After replacement, we will do a follow up with you to make sure you’re happy with the upgrade and approve of the lighting level given by your replacement LEDs.
